Its studies show polarization not only divides us but also may compromise trust and cooperation within communities.

Spend time reflecting on your actions and note how people react to them and figure out how you can better yourself in this regard.
Influence other community association peers toward civility. Your civility can inspire others, too. Be a role model so others around you maintain the same level of civility within their community association.
Raise awareness about civility within your community and offices. Have thoughtful conversations with people around you about the importance of civility within their community association. You also can drive change by encouraging various industry leaders to hold special events on civility awareness and training within their community associations and industry businesses.
Adopt CAI’s Civility Pledge. Community association boards are regularly faced with challenging and complex issues that can spark strong emotions.
