Public policy is a top priority for CAI’s new chief executive officer Dawn M. Bauman, CAE. As such, CAI continues to lead the conversation and invest in policies that strengthen community associations and the people who live and work in them. Our advocacy keeps associations and residents at the center while ensuring the entire industry can operate in a sustainable business environment that supports thriving communities.
CAI is thrilled to announce two new additions to the government and public affairs team effective Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Please join me in welcoming directors Elise Busse, MPP, and Tony Campisi, CAE, to CAI’s Government & Public Affairs team. Each brings with them extensive experience in policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and association management that will strengthen our ability to represent your interests at every level of government.
- Elise Busse, MPP, joins us from a federal relations group in Washington D.C. Many of you may know Elise best from her five years of experience with Messerli|Kramer in Saint Paul, Minn., and working as a lobbying coordinator with CAI’s Minnesota Legislative Action Committee. Elise also previously worked at the National Federation of Independent Business and at the local government level. She has a strong background in lobbying, legislative writing and analysis, and public speaking.
- Tony Campisi, CAE, comes to us from his role as the CAI Keystone Chapter executive director and is joining CAI’s team with more than 20+ years of community association industry experience including working directly with CAI’s Pennsylvania Legislative Action Committee. Tony has a strong executive leadership background and leadership experience with trade associations and legislative initiatives.
Their combined experience and insight will play a critical role in advancing CAI’s policy priorities, ensuring the community association industry’s voice is heard and continue to elevate CAI’s advocacy efforts. We are thrilled to have them join myself, Marlee Breakstone, senior manager of government & public affairs, and Ben Price, MPP, manager of government and public affairs.
I also am excited to announce that Luladay Fekadu has been promoted to director, executive office and compliance. She will be working alongside Dawn in an executive capacity. While Lula will no longer be working directly with CAI’s legislative action committees and advocacy efforts, she is not going far.
We look forward to introducing Elise and Tony to you at upcoming state legislative action committee meetings and CAI events. We are confident they will be valuable resources for our members. Please reach out to me at pneseth@caionline.org with any questions.
